Hairstyling competition a success

Hey everyone! Just a quick..post to let you guys know that the hairstyling competition that i was recently in.. well really well! But the only sad thing about it, is that hardly anyone actually showed up... i mean we had about 25 people who signed up and only about 9 people showed up :( it was very disappointing, but needless to say i had an awesome time! and i came home with prizes... (The prizes i received were... hair serum, shine spray, 2 nail polishes, a mini manicure set, a nail file.) I love everything i got! :) well that's all for this post! TTYL

Sushi!

Hey Everyone! Ok this is a very "random" post.. lol but today i went out for lunch to a sushi place. I love sushi! it's like my absolute favourite food. Anyways the restaurant is just a really cute smallish restaurant... and it's an "all you can eat" sushi place. They make some really delicious sushi! You can get all different kinds. Anyways i'm just rambling on here, lol but i'm going to be posting more hairstyling/hairstyle "posts". Competition hairstyle/ Step by step hairstyle!

Ok here is how you do this romantic side braided bun up do. 

FIRST STEP

First you start off with washing your hair.. then blow drying it, (this helps styling it better) then you make one big braid down the middle of the head (the center faux hawk). (The picture that i had for the three braids kind of got deleted... sorry about that!) Then after you make the big braid in the center of the head (center faux hawk) you, make two smaller ones on each side of the head.

<------  Then you put it into a side ponytail, and take one small strand of hair, and wrap it around the elastic (as shown) to hide the elastic. Secure that piece of hair with a bobby pin (preferably a bobby pin that is closest to the hair colour) (as you can kind of see mine is a black bobby pin, i didn't really have any to match her hair colour.. but normally i would).


SECOND STEP

Then you, take your straightening iron, and you make soft natural curls in the
ponytail that you have created. (if you are not sure how to curl hair using a curling iron this is how: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffu1BmJGATQ)

THIRD STEP

Next, you take more bobby pins and take small pieces of the curled  strands of hair from the ponytail, and start pinning them gently to the head, securing it so you don't see the bobby pins, (push the bobby pins IN and then DOWN).  Don't worry if it looks messy to you, it will be fixed later on. (As you can see mine doesn't look that neat here either). Leave some strands flowing down.

FOURTH STEP

Then, take you straightening iron again, and re- curl some of those strands in the side bun part of the hair, and the ones left flowing down.

FIFTH STEP

Next, take a coloured extension (Preferably a bright coloured one) and clip it in behind the side bun, and fool around with it, until it's placed the way you want it. (if you don't want an extension in then you don't have to put one. Then fix up the up do, add more curls if you'd like.

+ Small elastics
+ A straightening iron
+ A brush
+ A long- tailed parting comb
+ Hairspray
+ Heat Protector spray (optional)
+ Bobby Pins
+ Coloured Extension (optional as well)

Youtube Channel/ Video

Hey Everyone, I finally decided that i will be uploading videos to my youtube page... which is www.youtube.com/hairluxurious and the video that i'm uploading today is "Hairluxurious's ROOM TOUR" I decided that, for my first video it would be fun to make a "ROOM TOUR" video. i will only be uploading a new video about once a month... the rest of the time i will be doing the "hairstyling step by step tutorial blog posts" like i mentioned in my previous blog posts. Right now and i'm waiting for my video to upload... (which is really annoying to wait so long) i'm taking a free online driving G1 test.. lol . So far i'm doing ok on the test.. but it's actually not that easy.. takes a lot of thinking lol  Anyways... that's really all i have to say for today... so please check out my youtube... and i hope you guys like it! :D

Making a splash into the pool!

Yes, it's that time of year again, when the weather has warmed up... and it's finally time to open the pool! it's a lot of work to open a pool after it's been covered up for the winter months. Me and my Mom, spent about 3 and 1/2 hours opening the pool yesterday getting everything ready, for those hot summer days/months coming up, and to finally be able to swim again. I'm so happy that it's finally open because the days lately have been very hot... And i'm also happy because i love to swim! See, i'm not a winter person, i despise the cold, i much prefer the hot summer, compared to a cold frigid winter.  Even on those days you know, when its boiling hot that you think your about to pass out, its so hot... well i love those days as well. (Some days, not so much, but when I know i have a pool in my backyard, its nice). P.S i will soon be posting new hairstyles... in a step by step format blog, like i explained in my previous blogs! Step by Step Hairstyling Blog!

Ok i have officially decided that i am now going to make this into a "hairstyle tutorial blog" type thing... yes i know you are wondering "How?" well... what i will do is, once i want to share a new hairstyle or hairstyling tips with you, i will blog it step by step and show pictures for each step. On how to achieve the "LOOK" (I Hope that makes sense) i'm going to be doing this instead of making "youtube" videos... because it takes up a lot of time to make the videos. maybe in the future i will make videos... but for now I'm going to stick with this blog.. and hope you guys enjoy reading it! :)

June contest hairstyle/ Glee!

Well... i'm actually kind of bored right now. but, I just wanted to let you guys know that... I went over to my friend's house the other day to work on the hair style that i'm probably going to be doing, for the June contest in my school that i just recently told you guys about. Anyways she wore the hairstyle that I styled in her hair the next day for school and she got tons of compliments! YEAH! Anyways, this might be random... but i love the show "Glee" its awesome! it like my all time fav show right now... lol i so can't miss an episode of it!  its funny and really good! I like anything that has to do with singing in it, so thats probably why i love it so much.. Its getting better and better every week... in my opinion, anyways enough about that... i gtg. ttyl
